LIBRARY 


The Library is located in C Block, up the stairs off Main Reception and is run by Librarian, Mrs Donna Terry.

 

The Library is open:

Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm

  

Students have access to the Library throughout the school day including break time and lunch time.

  

The Library provides: 

  • A large collection of Fiction books for all ages and abilities.
  • Information books to support learning in all subjects from Years 7 to 13. Twenty five computers with internet access and printing facilities.
  • Online Resources - a large range of searchable subject databases that students can use in school or remotely.
  • Daily newspapers and a range of educational / general interest magazines.
  • Careers resources are available in a dedicated area adjacent to the Careers/Work Experience office.
  • A dedicated Post 16 area equipped with computers, books and study area.
  • Year 7 students all take part in Library induction lessons.
  • A range of activities and clubs take place throughout the year including Craft club, Warhammer Club and board games.
  • Events such as World Book Day and Book Awards such as the Carnegie Medal.
  • The library organises inspirational author visits for the whole school or targeted year groups.
  • The library is open to students before and after school to complete homework, carry out their own research projects or take part in after school activities.
