On Tuesday 28 January we were lucky enough to welcome a chef from Morley Hayes who visited HGSC’s Catering department to demonstrate his culinary prowess to our students, with a particular focus on the impact well-presented food can have.
Jack, a Sous Chef in the Dovecote restaurant at the luxury resort, certainly inspired the Y10 Hospitality and Catering students with his creations, with Mrs Wainwright, Y10 Assistant Achievement Leader, even commenting she has never seen the class so quiet whilst in awe of his work.
Various techniques were shown to the students which they were able to have a go at themselves, contributing to the finished dishes produced which can be seen below.
This was a great opportunity for students to explore the endless possibilities of the presentation of food within the catering industry, and we sincerely thank Jack for taking the time to come and visit, and hope to welcome him back soon.
